James College of Engineering and Technology conducts twin, National Level Essay Contests for students entitled “Impact of Obama’s Indian visit: A win-win situation for both the nations and Impact of Obama’s Indian visit: A boost to dual use Technology”
     Closely on the heels of Barack Obama’s epoch-making visit to India, James College of Engineering and Technology near Nagercoil of Kanyakumari District is organizing two National level Essay Contests for the benefit of students of Higher Secondary Schools and professional colleges with the aim of making them clearly understand the importance, significance and usefulness of American president’s visit to India. The first Essay contest entitled Impact of Obama’s Indian visit: A win-win situation for India and U.S. is meant for the Higher Secondary School students. The other one with the caption, Impact of Obama’s Indian visit: A boost to duel use Technology is meant for the Engineering students of our country.
     Barack Obama, being the leader of the socio-political-economic super power of the world, his recent visit to our country is extremely significant in several perspectives such as various bilateral trade deals struck, projection of India as a developed world power, support for a permanent membership in UN Security Council, technology transfer etc. The rare opportunity of meeting him, listening to him and interacting with him personally was possible only for a few youths of our country. One of the aims of this Essay Contest is that all our youths must invariably be well informed and fully sensitised about this historic event. It will help to usher in deeper understanding and a critical evaluation of Obama’s visit’s mega-advantage to both the nations among our students tooth and nail. The competition is also bound to arouse the curiosity, ignite the minds, enhance the abilities and resourcefulness of our students who are none other than the would-be leaders and policy makers of our nation, for effectively and successfully analyzing and solving critical issues of any kind at any time.



     Computers and a variety of fabulous prizes for the winners of the Essay Competition will be announced by the management of James College of Engineering and Technology shortly.
